French Blinkers.. now what??

so i've trimed them down, and left them sitting in brown die over night.. have just taken them, and watched all the die fall off them and back into the bowl, after running them under the tap, they are exactly the same colour as when they first went in... ???

Try the old fashioned trick - a large patch of mud

They've probs treated the wool with something, I agree that mud will do the best job

lol, they are Merino wool, and really nice the colour they are!! i guess the wool must have been treated, they looked a nice colour while they were sitting in the die too, a dark rich brown.. it all washed out under cold water

Did you use salt to 'fix' the dye - I remember dyeing a nuumed numnah and that did work - seem to remember quite hot water and heaps of salt being needed.

What about sticking them on a warm wash will this shrink them and make colour hold? I have seen someone pulled up on them before with brown ones as bigger than the 3cm allowed.

Yep, used loads of salt (proper die salt too) and hot water... maybe it's a sign, i should give up on the whole idea
