so i've trimed them down, and left them sitting in brown die over night.. have just taken them, and watched all the die fall off them and back into the bowl, after running them under the tap, they are exactly the same colour as when they first went in... ???

Now if you wanted that to happen it wouldnt have, say you had coloured them red or something!

You sure youve used the right dye?
 
Try the old fashioned trick - a large patch of mud

lol, they are Merino wool, and really nice the colour they are!! i guess the wool must have been treated, they looked a nice colour while they were sitting in the die too, a dark rich brown.. it all washed out under cold water

What about sticking them on a warm wash will this shrink them and make colour hold? I have seen someone pulled up on them before with brown ones as bigger than the 3cm allowed.
