French bulldogs - does anyone have one / do I want one?

I babysat a friend's frenchie. She was very sweet, affectionate but also very confident. I didn't find any problems breathing, especially compared to my pug. She also didn't seem as bothered by the heat as much as my pug and has quite a bit of energy as well, she came home from a warm day's walk and wasn't panting or struggling to breathe! I do like them, they have a lot of character but some puppies fetch for nearly £1,500!

You made a statement, I picked you up on it. You have become defensive instead of just explaining itself and I would sincerely hope you would not have chosen to speak to me like that had it been a face to face conversation. Implying this has descended into a NL posting is irrelevant. A simple explantion would have been fine but you chose a more aggresive "woe" stance.

Thats my final word on this. I can now choose to exercise my right and not read any more on this posting.

Oh for goodness sake put your toys back in your pram! We all have our likes and dislikes..mine happen to be bullbreeds, and spaniels for instance are just not my thing. No need to take offence..grow up. Staffies have a rotten deal due to overbreeding right now, they need every bit of help they can get ,and are the most cuddlesome non doggy smelling dog around.
Some folks like cavvies..we are all entitled to an opinion.

I like all breeds, so no quibbling from me :D except to say I have two snub-nosed breeds. Stella will walk and play for hours, especially when fetching her ball. Her sprints are *fast*; I mean, tell me that's not an Olympic athlete :D

I don't know why, but the heat doesn't really affect her ability to run and walk great distances (though NY's July/August humidity can bother her, as it seems to bother most dogs tbh).

Prince is more like a French bulldog. He's the same size (23lbs) and as flat-faced as a Frenchie. He's still good to go for walks on 80-degree days (more in the 30-40 minute range, though) and anything below 70 degrees he's very active. He's seven-years-old, as mellow as they come, and still puts in 90 minutes to two hours of walking on an average days, so I don't think you'd have anything to worry about with a healthy older Frenchie.
