French link snaffle for pony

Our little loan pony came with a single jointd eggbutt snaffle....Im not convinced he likes it as a bit of head throwing when you have any rein conatct. so im thinking of getting a french link one. would I be right in thinking that a loose ring version is more likely to pull through the mouth, Particularly as I will be getting one with the smaller rings. Looking for an eggbutt type but not as easy to get hold of.

hi, my little section A used to chuck his head about and i changed him to a french link eggbutt and he was so much happier.
i dont use it anymore and think its in a tub in the tack room, if you let me know what size you are looking for i can dig it out and have a measure.

Great...I think its a 5 inch but I will measure it tomorrow just to make sure. He is a section C
