French link snaffles

I'm thinking of trying one instead of a single jointed snaffle, specifically a full cheek, but how does it sit in the mouth? I've always thought the link sat flat against the tongue, but thinking about it aren't they at a 90 degree angle?

I think they are flat, its the Dr Bristol that are angled.

Try a Neue Schule. The new turtle top style lies flat and has a slight curve to it which fits the tongue nicely.

i thought one would be nice for my horse but i have to say that he hated it so i stayed with a sweet iron, single joint snaffle.

Yes, that's why I'm having a trial. It's an expensive bit and I won't buy unless I feel it's an improvement on his current bit.
