Any chance one of you could help the RSPCA out over this mare?

you must have a network of contacts to see if this mare has been brought over via the sites..or failing that, pointing the RSPCA in the right direction??

Would be nice to see your Sites getting involved in something constructive instead of getting flak all the time eh?

i can have a look on the rescue sites, but it will be hard to search with just chestnut mare to go on

Oh Good..

maybe you could ask Admin if they could look on their data base of horses/ponies brought over by the sites to see if they could recognise her?

What makes you think it's a French Rescue job? Might be a pikey escaper.

its got a french micro chip....

I hope they can find the owner.... Poor mare and foal so glad the ending was a damn sight better than the last time I helped pull a mare out of a dyke :-(

not one i recognise tbh although not all french horses in uk come via rescue sites.

yes, we all know that....but just thought someone on the sites' admin could check out "if" she is was a "rescue"...as we also know they don't always stay with their original "rescuer"

it just might be useful info the RSPCA need.

It means keeping the profile of the thread highly visible. ie threads that are regularly in use on a section are highlighted on the main page so the more times people post on it the longer it gets full attention.

If she has a French micro-chip Haras Nationaux will have a record of her last recorded owner. Has anyone approached them?

If she was a last-minute passport for a French Rescue HN will have details of the vet who m/chipped her.

Lots of Brits are returning to France some have horses. Why is it assumed this horse is a French Rescue?

If you ask people nicely it amazing what you can discover.

I don't think there's any assumption she's a French rescue, Rollin, far from it. I think JM was just asking someone to check that she wasn't.

It would be a two minute check for the any of the sites to run through their databases to cross reference the mare, just in case. Anything to help.

Excellent point about Hara Nationaux. Why not give the RSPCA and pass the information on? They may not be aware.
