Me and my friend have been inspired recently to do some fundraising for charity. At the moment we have decided that the charity should be one for fallen/injured soldiers.
We aren't the most creative people and are just looking for some fresh new ideas that 2 teeagers could raise some money for a good cause!
We are open to any ideas that you may have!

Thanks in advance
:D

*please no nasty comments, we are just trying to do something good and feel that HHO could give us some fresh inspiring ideas

Good for you! Here are some I've considered when doing this sort of thing before:

Fun dog show (if you get someone to let you use thier land for free and get a good deal on the rosettes - often rosette companies will give you a discount if it's for charity - you can make quite a lot doing this kind of thing, particularly if oyu also run raffles at it, perhaps have an 'ask the expert' stand with a behaviourist who will devote a few hours for free, etc)

Fun pony show - with lots of unusual fun classes (not SHOWING bleugh), all welcome (e.g. jumping/dressage test holding jelly, whoever has most jelly at end wins/bareback jumping/top score/jump and run (timed - rider jumps course on horse then gets off and jumps on foot)/jumping relay (in teams - each person jumps part of the course, swapping baton to next person and timed, etc etc). Include a gymnkhana! Again with jelly, haha.

If you hapen to know any good trainers, behaviourists etc then organise demos/talks etc - you can make money charging form the tickets and maybe even raffle off a lesson/consultation.

Horse bring and buy sale

horse car boot sale (charging for stands of course)

Get sponsored for doing something fun - e.g. do a four day ride and see how far you can get/ a sponsored chase me charlie/ somthing like that...sponsored mucking out?? Mucking out races???

Ummm running low on ideas now - will write more if i come up with more!!
good luck.

Oh - photo shows are another good one, you charge like £2 per category and rosettes as prizes - could be animal based or not, lots of fun categories.... you would need either a village hall (if it's local) or website/facebook page (if not local) to show results and images ....

A few years ago a couple of girls on our yard did a Mass-Muck-Out. They mucked out around 20 horses and got people to pay £1 each to guess how long it would take. We had "runners" to take the wheelbarrows to and from the muck heap & the person guessing the nearest time got a prize. Everyone else on the yard took the forms to work etc etc to get as many people as possible to have a guess.

Organise a gymkhana evening. No horses / ponies just people on foot! Beg old rosettes / sashes (or make your own) from people to use. have classes for different age groups eg 10 & under / 15 & under / over 16 / veteran 50+. Do a clear round course. Give points not prizes & winners are the ones with highest points. get baking & sell refreshments.
