Wow what a result, I've not enjoyed SJ so much for ages.
Please tell Andy how much we enjoyed watching him ride, and congratulations on such a smashing result.
I willed him to win so hard (I bet all the forum members did) but perhaps next year.
Geoff B rode a masterly round and to see his tears at the end was so sweet.
I bet there'll be some celebrating tonight wherever you are (I hope you were there) you must be so proud, that horse wasn't an easy ride and he rode him beautifully. (perhaps take a tip from the eventers and add some tape next time?

LOL I did think that whoever didn't tape would be kicking themself, that was nailbiting stuff! Almost worth missing eventing for...

Me either, before I did mine, oh well, don't often read much in there anyway, and certainly would not be wading through pages into double figures!!

I had my fingers crossed so tightly during Andy's round - it brought tears to my eyes.

Second at your first Derby at the age of 18! That's amazing

I was soooo happy for Geof to win after that though - he's such a fabby character - well deserved

Hi Sue only just noticed this post. Unfortunately I am at home on my own looking after the yard. BUT WHO CARES
grin.gif

Just got to mention though that it wasnt a boot that was loose. It was TAPE. We always duck tape round Gerry's shoes as an extra precaution. (he is always pulling shoes off) Unfortunately due to the wet conditions (& possibly striking into his shoe) he pulled a piece off. Both front boots were still securely fastened when leaving the arena. The worst that could have happened was he could have snapped the loose duck tape or taken a shoe off. He is a real bounder for pulling off shoes but he is so active behind.
Well I will celebrate on my own. Andy & OH are staying down at Hickstead to party. Next time round I am coming back as a man.

Oh what you must have suffered through that round at home!!!!
I can't imagine as it had me shouting and leaping about here.
That horse made me smile, he can put some cheeky bucks in can't he?
He looked in peak fitness however with energy to spare for that deep going, and finished looking just as good as when he started.
I bet that tape flapping worried you then, as you would know exactly what caused it.
To come 2nd at his age is really a hell of a thing, and the selectors should be impressed.
On a personal note what a nice lad he came over as, didn't begrudge G his success one bit, and was pleased for him.
He's a nice looking boy too, I bet he gets some female fans after this tv appearance, and hopefully more sponsors as he showed he was unfazed by the cameras.
Of course he couldn't have done any of it without the support you and his family give him, so well done to you all too...
