The concept that owners “justify” their daily regime because their dogs “accept their lot” and aren’t destructive etc

Oh for the good old days where we didn’t attribute human emotions and feelings to a dog, which really does not think about life in the same way.

I have nothing to “justify” and never have had, my dogs are happy content and fulfilled as anyone who actually knows them will confirm..... I despair of those who pass judgement on an online forum without actually knowing the truth of the matter....

I don’t know either CT, although I do essentially feel that a dog that is basically alone for 17 hours a day, can’t especially be happy.

I think they definitely get used to it, not that we’ve ever done that, but as someone said, they’re left overnight, of course. I rarely sleep through, tho, so they come up when I drift into the spare room.

Sounds like a good life. I can think of better, sure. I can however think of far worse.
