Hi

Have seen this event advertised and wondered if anyone could tell me anything about it, have searched to find pics etc and videos but have drawn a blank, would be doing the 90, is it run over the same BE90 course (which is being held the week before)??? what is the SJ like? any info greatly recvd and any pictures would be fantastic.

Many thanks

T

I did it about 5 years ago - it was more or less the same as the BE 90 XC course but they cut a bit out so it was shorter. The show jumping was held in a different place, the dressage was where the affiliated SJ normally is.

It's organised by my riding club. :) The 90cm course will run over the BE90 cross country course. The dressage arenas aren't situated where they are for the BE event (on the other side of the road, across from the stable yard at Brightling. They are actually in the same field as the lorry park. The same lorry park is used both at this event and the BE event. Granted, it isn't the best place to have the arenas as the ground isn't particularly good there. Tends to be a little less flat and requires a little more thought on the riders part. :) Show jumping is in the same place as it is for the BE event. They use jump 4 joy fences and fillers and last time we went (2 years ago) they put a water tray in for the bigger class, which then was the 90cm. Wasn't big, but just a pre-warning it might be in there. All in all a great event, I'm not biased. Promise! Wasn't a member of the RC when I went last. We're going. I'll probably be helping during the day but also intend on going to do the 1m class :)

I went last year; had a lovely day. Nice friendly people. Dressage warm up small and hilly, arenas ok, show jumping in same place as BE, xc over be course - almost identical. Big and bold but rides better than it walks, a bit hilly. Can be hard if dry ( not likely this year!!!)

Not done it, but I grew up in the area and Freddie was my Instructor for a few years.

She was fantastic and is sorely missed.

Brightling Park is always lovely for XC though.
