I'm looking at breeding my Friesian mare in the next few years but I read that there are no KFPS "approved" stallions in the UK. Does this mean for the foal to be eligible for a KFPS passport the sire must be selected from the very few approved ones overseas? My mare is KFPS papered but hasn't had a foal before, is there anything else I may need to consider?

Thanks in advance

Contact FHAGBI for advice - they are Friesian association in the UK and have good knowledge. No there are no approved stallions in the UK so you can select a stallion in Holland (or elsewhere) and go the AI route which is expensive and not every stallion is available through this method so you would need to do your research. What premie does your mare have? Are you breeding for yourself to keep?

Does UK cover ireland? I know a few fresians here despite being in the north, who i believe were shipped from holland (so may just be listed as only in holland)
