Yeah, I saw this yesterday, so sad. Not a nice way to go but it doesn’t seem like she suffered for long. Interesting/ worrying that Yvonne said this is a common problem for Friesians, probably due to inbreeding (alongside many other life shortening) issues. A topic for another day but I’d suggest, if everyone knows that’s the case, stop breeding them….

Yes, thankfully it seems they got her to the clinic promptly, I was also surprised it’s a common problem for friesians. Such a shame as she’s still undecided as to whether Rising Star (Risey) needs to be PTS.

I know she also have other horses, but Queen Uniek, and Rising Star seems to be a bit extra special to her, and she's really not had much luck with either of those two. After all, 2 of the times Queen Uniek was in foal after that Yvonne had bought her, it didn't result in a live foal. One of those times, Rising Star came into their lives, and you've already mentioned his current health problem. :(

And for anyone who might read this thread, who doesn't follow this YouTube channel, that's not even all on Yvonne's bad luck with horses account. There's also Glendy, one of the Shetland mares, which she had vague plans of selling, which have something wrong with a shoulder. Not to mention the accident Yvonne had in 2022 when she presumably fell off one of the horses (since nobody saw what happened, I presume it's possible she could've gotten off to check something, and an accident happened, but most likely she did fall off), was in a coma, and they didn't know if her brain had been too damaged for her to return to herself. From what she shares in the videos she seems to have recovered reasonably well, but I think she's mentioned something about having brain tiredness, and she's definitely mentioned that she still struggles with her words occasionally.


By the way, I wonder how things are with boss Rein's (at Stal G) health problem? Last time I saw him in a video, I thought he looked frail.

From what I understood it seemed the horse she was riding went down with her when they were alone in the school?

As I remember it described, she was riding alone, and eventually someone found her lying on the ground (in the school). Sometimes I've heard people refer to it as that she fell off the horse, other times people say she fell with the horse, but since noone saw what happened, and she doesn't remember what happened, nobody really knows. Most likely she fell off, but who knows, maybe she was on the ground, and had a freak accident.

Either way, I'm going to have to edit my first reply, because come to think about it, I think the accident was in 2022. Time flies.

She’s just done amazingly well with her health as she had memory issues and her vision problems for a while too, yes, it’s a shame that Stal G has sold off their herd and I agree, suddenly Boss Rein seemed to age very suddenly. I hope he’s ok too. ❤️
