Are you selling your lovely girly? I meant to ask the other day- did you vet come out in the end and did you find out why she was running so much milk? Is she in foal? Sorry if I missed your post.
She not in foal, my boyf sis has got 2 foals where i keep her & the thinks her seeing them has triggered something & my 2 yr old Trying to suckle off her didnt help matters either. Looks like i could be having baby myself & wouldnt be able to keep margje aswell. she wouldnt get the attention she deserves.
Im not all that happy as i really dont want to sell. Wud sell my 2 yr old sec d but he doesnt take up that much time at moment so makes more sense to sell her. If i can find the funds & time to keep her i will. Just dont know what to do feel so down about it all. Times like these are supposed to be happy but it was a bit of shock it wasnt planned
I would love one but they are WAY out of my price range, unless you've considered loan??
Im sure you wont have any trouble selling her though they are very much in demand
Thats awful, my friend is looking to loan at the moment and buy at the end of the summer, she ideally wants a friesian mare, pm me for her phone number if you're interested.

Does your friend not want to buy straight away, in a way not sure if id want to put her out on loan

She needs to save up the money to buy, her current loan is going back in a few weeks which is earlier than she expected so she doesn't have the money to buy yet.
If you really wanted to put her in foal rather than sell there are some cheaper options. I own 2 friesian mares and 1 is currently in foal due in 3 weeks then both will be put in foal to dutch stallions for next year. We went to the stallion gradings in holland this year and I made contact with a lot of the studs. Especially for the younger stallions that haven't yet been fully approved the stud fees for chilled or frozen semen can be as little as 400 euros and a lot of studs who have AI technicians are qualified to inseminate so no expensive vets fees either. Also I wouldn't be too worried about just turning her away to grass for a year, my older mare has had that done with her a few times in her life and has never suffered for it, she is just happy to have someone go and say hi to her once a day and scratch any itchy bits that she has. It would be such a shame for you to loose your dream horse. If you want details of the studs or if I can help you at all please feel free to PM me. Good luck.
