Friesian peeps

for the sweet itch I would get a sweet itch rug, I love the rambo sweet itch hoody as it fits my mare really well and doesn't pull around her shoulders. She wears it whenever she is out, with a fly mask too. No fly spray on the planet has come close to being as effective as the rug. No rubbing mane out so we are both happy!

I tell you what is great for sweet-itch, its called killitch, its like a liquid cream and u paint it on to certain areas thats affected and works a treat - u have to wait a bit to get it into the system obvs but its now actually guaranteed to work, u have to wash the areas like every 3weeks though as sometimes if left longer it can had the adverse effect :) but it really does work if u persevere :) x

I have a pony with SI (thankfully the Friesian doesn't!) Get some Junior Oilatum for his face and you can rub it into the crest of his mane and tail without it making an horrific mess - better than say baby oil etc. It wont be a "cure all" but it certainly does help. I also use the Junior oilatum cream for his face and the hair has started to grow back.

I also put some Arnica and Witchazel gel (made by Lincoln) It is really cooling when they have particular hot spots. Works for all of them when the bitey critters have been at their worst...

I also use Deosect and add Patchouli, geranium, neem and peppermint as a fly spray. - Patchouli is great for the bitey critters as is neem. There is a shop on ebay that sells it quite cheaply. You can add it in with everything then. "the neem shop"

Ditto rugs etc.
