hi ive just brought an friesian she is 3 years and im going to bring her on for dressage.
but would like to do a bit of showing with her.
besides foreign breed classes what else can i take her in .
any ideas.

ermmm age classes........

some shows allow them in m and M but in theory they shouldn't be......

things like in hand horse they can do as well

maybe working hunter if it jumps well but i am not sure if others would agree.....
 
I know someone that enters hers in working hunter and best turned out - but just local shows. Driving and dressage are your best bets, but as someone else said I wouldn't back until 4 as they are very slow maturing and are prone to OCD if too much is done too young. Do put some piccies up of your new GG! I have a few friesians and they are great fun and so nice natured - just a faff to breed!!

hi i put this type of thread up not long ago as its hard to find classes for them
its a shame really as theya re stunning horses and should have classes more widely available

how did you go about breeding did you import the semen and AI

i want to breed from my mare in the future but not got a clue how to go about it and what cost is involved

Do your homework if you are wanting to breed your Friesian mare and are in the UK. There are one or two unscrupulous people about who make many claims about their stallion, but the claims are false and you could end up with a foal you can't register properly with the KFPS. There are some genuine folk in the UK who are breeding Friesians, but I know a couple of people who have been caught out, and it's a very sad tale.

Contact FHAGBI (Friesian Horse Association of Great Britain and Ireland). They can give you good advice about breeding Friesians, particularly in relation to which sort of stallion would compliment your mare and her bloodlines.

if you want to now more about breeding friesians try info that has been giving or try blackhorses on here she has a stunning friesian stallion wessel and knows alot breeding this trpe of breeding
