Ok so, since moving to my yard in Feb Ive had my fair share of ups and downs. The YO is nice but totally unhorsey. I moved in and was paying full whack (£80) although it took 3 months for the stables to be built, and even then the barn roof needed replacing and the rain would pour in, which in bens stable cost me at least an extra bale a week. Ben and Ebs had a lovely field with field shelter, but the grass was completely barren and had not been rested in yrs, it took a lot to persuade and educate the YO that the field in this case did need fertilising. I purchased about £300 of my own fencing stakes, tape and energiser. The facilities were as follows: field, shelter, electricity, tack room, storage, stables, grass schooling area. Add to that my grief stricken time with ebony, and the loss of her, which hit ben like a juggernaut. He has been stuck in the field on his own, and finds it hard, he can see the others in the other field but if they go in (there are only 2) he gallops around and trashes the electric fence (my fence) He is trying so hard bless him and has been so very sweet since we lost ebs. Anyway, today YO says he has bitten off more than he can chew, he wants ben gone, (didnt say it nastily... but the fact is still the same) he cant get to do the roof (hes about to have 6 weeks away) he doesnt want to do the roof in one go, just do bits at a time, ben breaking down MY fencing in MY field is stressing him out, he didnt realise that being a YO could be so stressful, and because ben is in the field he cant get in there to do all the jobs he wanted to do, he also said he felt pressured to get the stables built! He rented to me! So I was really miffed earlier, we are still on good terms, and I understand he literally has bitten off more than he can chew, didnt realise the commitment and work, and would rather have the 2 horses in the stables with non leaking roofs and not rent the others out. The thing is that for a youngster ben is actually really well behaved now 
he's just a little bit insecure in his field when he cant see other horses, but he soon calms back down.
So, after this conversation I left the yard a wee bit stressed, angry, and pressurised. I have however come up trumps, I have found a yard with spaces just becoming available with xc, floodlit school, box for transport, £30 per week which includes all inc haylage (he eats 2-3 bales a week when stabled (£12-£15) Stables, individual turnout but with horses he can see, the option to pay for bringing in/turning out etc... fab instructor owns the place, and she knows my boy and I would absolutely trust her, she has a lot of experience producing and working with beasts
So ben is going to Bootcamp on wednesday, and when he returns, its all change, but looks like change for the better
