Our little ex-racer has shown talent for jumping, bless him. Would like to do some more, but he has dressage saddle (yes, jumped in it!). I have only ridden in a dressage saddle for the past 20 years, as I like to feel that every part of me from bum down has contact with a ned, and I have sat on some stinkers!

So folks, how on earth am I going to manage in a more forward cut one? Also bear in mind I am only 5' with a short thigh, but average length shins! By the way when I was taught to jump we had to grip a big old penny with our knees on to the saddle, and I haven't done much jumping since!

Any suggestions as to which type to buy?

Help! :D

One with big knee blocks!! lol

My little mare has an Ideal Gazelle which I LOVE....such a nice saddle to ride in.

My dressage horse has a Bates jumping saddle which is horrendous and I would rather jump in his Albion SLK!!

Get a fitter out with a good selection, and take your time. I bought an Albion K2 in a similar situation and hated it, later bought a Prestige which was MUCH nicer. I should have returned the Albion but I didn't know I was legally entitled to a 7 day trial.
