Stumbled across a few photos on Facebook and the internet, mostly funny, but WARNING, the why "barefoot is a bad idea" is probably not what you think.

Even though I've heard people talk on HHO about wrapping your horse in bubble wrap, I didn't think they meant literally...

Glad you enjoyed some of them :D.

I didn't enjoy seeing the foot either , but I thought it could be a good reminder to people now, when the temperature can make it tempting to not wear proper footwear for the stable.

I can really imagine my grey climbing op a haystack to get to the tastier hay. ;)

Now what I really need is a cardboard box... I've been hankering after a getting a kitten and this seams like a good (and cheap) solution. :p :)
 
I've heard of horses climbing things before, but I only recall seeing it in films or as part of tricks, not a "normal" horse doing it. Anyhow, the photo mostly makes me think about how they got him/her down? Just making the horse stand and then leading it down, looks a little unsafe to me.
 
When my gelding does his bank climbing trick (OK the banks are tiny compared to that stack of bales ;)) I point at the ground and say 'get down' firmly. Amazingly he does get down, but I suspect that that horse may have needed some help. Maybe moving some bales to give it a more gentle ramp down?

Ramp made of bales sounds like a good idea.

I'm impressed by your gelding's obedience, and apparently he's also smart enough, to not climb something that makes it look like you would need a forklift to lift him down.
