Since my mare had ligament problems two year ago I have not really ridden at all, just twice on a friends goey, ponyish chap which was fun a few months ago before my foal was born.

Well, on Saturday I was invited to go and hack out with friend on second of her two horses, 17hh chestnut 4 year old warmblood. He is massive.

I have ridden pretty much all my life but never ridden a horse like that. Everything was huge, the stride, the elevation, the neck!!!! When we trotted for the first time I thought I was going to be pinged into orbit!

I must say he was very impressive, we went for a road hack, just walking and a little trotting. Had to go past combine harvester discharging wheat into a tractor and trailer, right by the road and he didn't bat an eyelid!

Cant begin to imagine what his canter must feel like.

LOL know that feeling, no riding to a 17.2hh warmblood, but I did ride a funny 16.2 a few times before, he had a longer stride than my WB so now H feels o so comfy

I rode the most amazing 17hh Hanoverian X last night and I expected to be pinged into orbit but he was fab and had a canter to die for!!!! It was the most amazing canter I have ever done. So you really must canter next time!!!!!!
