Just wondering if anyone has experience with these guys? Waiting for MRI to confirm but given xrays look perfect we are expecting a soft tissue problem with young horse and are considering the barefoot route. Rockley is obviously at the top of the game, but the horse is located in the South East and the owner would like to have it closer. Or would you only consider Rockley? Have looked through the forum, but any experience with dressage horses returning to work and continuing up the levels would be appreciated.

Feel free to PM if you prefer!

I know Krista of From the Ground Up and she would be a great person for rehab. She is close to Nic from Rockley and follows similar hoofcare principles and also supports owners with the psychological challenges of rehab!
She offers a remote service as well as taking one or two rehabs on herself. I’d definitely get in touch and see what she recommends. She has dressage horses herself too.

I've no direct experience but I think whereas Rockley and From the Ground Up prefer self trimming and no boots, the Bristol place goes for boots and pads and trimming. So it might depend which approach you're more comfortable with and think you can maintain going forwards. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer and it probably depends on the horse but when I took the shoes off my horse, knowing I could use boots made it feel much more doable for me.

Thank you for that feedback, good to hear from someone who knows personally. We did see she has dressage horses, and also looks like she does a whole body type of rehab so we did like the sound of all that.

Yes you are totally right. And with this horse we are not quite sure. Personally I am a total novice when it comes to the competition horse, being barefoot and other options. So trying to educate myself to help this owner, and also my own knowledge!
