Schooling today (in readiness for first dressage test on own horse - eeek!) he was very slow off leg (and has been for a week) to go into left canter, so thought I would put my spurs on and have a little help - he goes from donkey to bucking beast but only on the canter transition (trot, halt, cirlces etc ok) and I do wear spurs on Uni horses but not yet on mine. He has been ridden in spurs before (old owner and was ok) and I normally ride in them 4 days a week at Uni and have no probs? I am thinking of getting those roller ball ones as not so severe, anyone know where to get them from? Any advice - bring it on please!! thankies.

It sounds like he has objected to your spurs, and it is a good idea to get the rollar ones. If he is dead on your leg without them, you could try sharpening him up by working him on a circle going from walk to canter and give him a good old schooling sessions, saying listen to mum.

Thank you thank you thank you - I spent an hour on the internet and went thru every web site, tack shop etc I could think of and cn find them - will order now - wat a daft s*d, didn't think of looking on e-bay!?!?!?
