Is it just me or does the cob on the cover look rather overweight?

I show my cob and would be ashamed to take him in the ring carrying that much 'condition', and considering the H & H are
currently talking about equine obesity, though it rather ironic...

(also in cr)

I must admit I do think it looks a bit of a truck! That said I don't show and I do often find the horses I see at shows too fat for my liking.

I know that people will say this horse has alot of muscle and I'm sure it has, but the size of the body, as compared to the amount of bone and build of the horse, seems rather too large and rounded to me.

To be fair though, I have never seen a (to my mind) fit and lean working horse do well in the show ring!

I think he looks fantastic, he is a cob, he will never look like a hunter or riding horse. Look at his chest, it is wide and he has ample bone. These top class show horses have to be fit to be able to sustain an hour in the ring, no show producer wants their horses to flag at the end of the class. He is a big strong horse looking in tip top show condition.

The Humdinger was champion a few years ago and he was considered perfect even though many said he was obese...
