I have been looking to get some frontline spray in rediness for the 'mite' season and am struggling to findit other than through my vets for some huge sum of money...can anyone recommend anywhere online?
Also, I use the frontline spot on treatment for my cats to great effect...has anyone tried this on horses legs for mites etc and has it worked in the same way as it does for cats/the spray stuff?
Thanks

My local Pets at Home store now sells Frontline and also do mail order but don't think they do the spray. I've used the dog one to great effect but not used it on horses but theres quite a few people on here that have and say its great.

If you haven't used it on your horse before I think you are supposed to do a test to make sure they don't react to it

Hi frontline spot on wouldnt work on the neds as its done on the weight of the animal!! Can you imagine how many pipettes you would need?? lots!
Id just keep searching the internet for frontline spray and find a cheaper supplier.
Good luck!

On my vets advice I use bog standard dog flea collars around my cobs hind pasterns. Works really well and nice and cheap. I was also told not to seal mites in with oils and paraffin products because it's actually air that kills them. This is why people seem to have success getting rid of them the first few days after clipping feathers off but then they come back when the oils go on.
Mites thrive in a moist warm airless environment.
Course this is just what I do for my cob and I'd talk to your vet before trying anything radical! Good luck with it!

ps) Horse Deet fly spray works a treat on dog and cat fleas in the house and keeps them away.

Frontline Combo (spray) is a prescription only product so you can only buy it from vets or ask for a prescription to buy on line - equine vets might not charge (as much!) as SA vets for a script as it's not a product that they usually sell so they're not losing a sale, so to speak.

You can buy it abroad online with a script but be warned, technically it's 1) Illegal and may be confiscated at customs or 2) more likely you'll get charged the VAT and haave to also pay a surcharge to the PO as a result.

By the way, it works really well on my horses to prevent ticks as well as mites.......
