Spent the whole morning at the yard today with my feet so cold they hurt. Was wearing my v.old hunter wellies for yard work then rode in my old aquacats. So need some new boots but what to go for? I'd like some boots that I can wash the mud off and ride in rather than change into other boots.
Option 1 is get some cheap boots (i.e. the DH copy of the MH rimfrost riders that are down to £20) to try and warm my feet for the winter and get some new Aquacats/half chaps for summer? (though I'm having trouble tracking down some more Aquacats!)
Option 2 is to get some expensive Dubarry's/Ariats for all year round to ride and work in (I usually wear trainers for working in summer anyway so doesn't matter that they might be too warm)
Option 3 is to try some mid range boots like the Dublin Valley Tall boots for all year round and trainers for working in summer.
What's your experience of these products and what would you recommend? Is it worth splashing the cash on the expensive ones?
