Posting on behalf of a friend who has a 4 yr old gelding, cut late and is VERY interested in the tarty mares in the neighbouring field. Is currently out with geldings and wont let them near the fence or mares and will chase them away. Can anyone recommend a good calmer for riggish behaviour? Do they actually work?

Many Thanks

Rig Calm is AMAZINGGGG

I used it on my gelding before him was and after he was cut, really calmed him down!!! He was a breeding stallion too.... now he doesn't even look at mares

Wow I bet he was a handful if he knew what his 'equipment' was for, lol! As far as I'm aware this gelding has never covered but was cut late and is very stallion like in appearence. He can be bargey on the ground but is fab to ride. Thanks for that recommendation, will pass it on! Did you see an improvement in behaviour on the ground too? x

Don't know if this is any help but we had our old rig on Regumate to stop him but eventually he went over the top of it. In the end when he went over it, he would rear up and strike out at people to stop us getting near his "mares". Didn't help that he was cut at 10 and was used as a teaser and we have 4 mares (3 of them are major tarts!). He used to properly try mount the mares so it wasn't just a get it out and play with it if you know what I mean! Was the full works!!
Maybe try the Rig Calm :)

Another vote for RigCalm. A friend had his stroppy yearling colt on it after a judge recommended it when he was particularly full of himself at a show. It turned him into a very sane and nicely behave young man in a very short time. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it.
