I have owned my ISH for 3 yrs now and he is slowly driving me up the wall, as he will not go forwards until he has been to the toilet (either way!). He will get to the stage that when he trots he feels like his legs are crossed and almost feels lame, but will only go when absolutely bursting - competing and hunting are affected too, as he can be very sluggish until he has 'been'.
I bring him in to the stable before riding in the hope he will relieve himself, always travel with shavings down, and try to encourage him to go when we arrive the other end, but sometimes to no avail. I feed pink powders as a digestive aid but doesn't seem to make any difference.
Does anyone else have this problem with their horse, and offer any suggestions?! It may sound a minor issue, but is very frustrating as I hate having to nag him to go forwards, especially when he is a 'pocket rocket' once relieved!
Thanks for listening.
