Both of mine are technically rescues, Ash I consider to be a proper rescue in that the rspca took the police with them to sieze him and another dog from the owners who were then prosecuted for cruelty, noodles came via malamute rescue charity but was rehomed straight from her owners who had had her from 6 weeks to 6 years old but then had to give her up due to getting pregnant, I don't consider her to be a proper rescue, it's funny though that Ash is the easiest dog in the world whereas noodle although not bad does need some "management", having never been properly socialised for the first 6 years of her life and taken from her mum at 6 weeks she has no idea how to calmly greet other dogs or read their signals and of left to her own devices would be a pita, hence she isn't allowed off lead in places with other dogs. The only 1 we had from a puppy was great the first few times at the vets then a new vet insisted on muzzling her and used a really tight canvas muscle which really stressed her out and after that every visit to the vet got worse so I used to leave her in the car, let the receptionist know we were there and they could get us when we could go straight on thereby avoiding any waiting room stress.
