FT: Bought my friend a horse for christmas

Don't worry if she doesn't like it she could always put it on gumtree in exchange for a new pair of boots or a Lamborghini, and if she can't ride it I've seen lots of ads for 13 year old girls with at least 22 years riding experience who are willing to ride literally anything that moves. One of them says she competed a seagull to grand prix level!

If she doesnt want him i'll either put it on gumtree or just give it to the kid down the road, he likes to go fast so he may enjoy a pony that can go fast for hours!

Already got that, the adverts here;

'' Black and white stallion 8 months old, will have lots of feather in the future, is also going to be a showjumper next year, already training to drive. Will be a great daddy if you want a showjumper or driving horse. £4000 per mating.''

Is that good? No replies yet.. :-(

Oh that's great. I've got a mare I want to breed from. She used to be good at eventing but she got lame on three legs and has a bad back. She's about 25 now so really ready to be a Mummy. She's 15.6hh, do you think your stallion will reach her? I could bring a chair for him to stand on. i would love a little baby horse from her cos I love her so much, it could live in the garage with her. All summer I will give them grass cuttings and old apples. They will love it.

Mandwhy - could you PM me her details, I've got a lively one that likes to flap around, if she's done SG GP sounds like she'd be perfect to tame my beastie. ta, muchly.

Yeah sure, i'm going to have to charge you otherwise I can't afford to buy a new coat.. I'll charge you about £2000 just because he's a proven jumping producer, would that be okay???? i'm sure he's reach, your mare sounds perfect for him. Oh yes i'll train him to use a chair!!

Pretty good, I like the yellow on the second ones feather, how did you do that, wash them with cheap dusters.

The first one has capped hocks so I'll pass on him :D

Oh I dropped some doritoes on the floor and the stupid thing stood in them, took me 40 minutes to clean!! Bleach worked thank GOD, can't give him away mucky!:D

Oh no I cant afford hay, will just put a handful or two of grass in it, he will be fine..
:p

Oh don't worry, you don't need to bother with that hay stuff, its really messy anyway and a pain to stand there with them while they eat it..especially when you go to the field (box?) in your pyjamas and don't have a pair of wellies...they don't need all that roughage stuff anyway, especially not in the winter....no, what you want to do is go to the horse shop and buy a bag of food with a nice picture on it, don't bother to read the label, just make sure its a nice sugary one. Oh and make sure you get a colour coordinated bucket to feed it out of ....oh and as for not being able to afford it, don't worry about that either, you've bought the horse now, you won't have to spend a penny on it for ever after...

I've got lots of bags of sugar, I was going to use them in my tea and on my cereal but horse needs them more I suppose, will put all 5 bags in a bucket and give him them tomorrow!

I love it when people think things through properly...you're so well prepared! I hope your friend is a child and will be looking after the horse all by itself...the responsibility will be good for her!!!!! She'll have a good supply of sugary stuff to give and will get all her horse management info of wikipedia! :D

Oh yeah my friend is only 8 and a half, its her lifelong dream to have a horse in her back yard, Shes 16 and a half stone so has plenty of sugar and chocolate and crisps, yeah Chad will be well looked after!:D:p

Can't you keep it sedated until christmas - its not that long away now - that way it could go under the tree - no-one will notice - will be a lovely surprise - better than rudolph :D

Yeah she will, it'll keep her out of the house and out of her hair! You think of everything...

Thanks for the compliments babe, it was a spur of the moment buy but looks like it's going to pay off. I'd better get that helicopter I asked for..

Oh it's okay that he's lame, she'll still be able to ride him with a limp right??

This made me laugh, and now i'm grinning like an idiot:D:D:D:D

Yeah I could do, bit low on funds, might just taze him on the 23rd and knock him out , he'll be quiet then:p

Wow BS what a fab present - and if she keeps it in garden it will double up as a lawnmower. What a fab friend you are :D

Does friend have some suitable stuff to ride in - pink and sparkly is the way to go

I've bought her a pink towel for a blanket, im sure it'll be fine, Chad's only tiny!!
Oh she doesn't have a garden, just a yard.. no grass:o

Okay off to watch tv now, will check tomorrow:D

When going showjumping, she wants as much tackle as she can fit on it, the strongest bit she can find, 'Go-Faster' fancy boots and mahoosive spurs..ya know, them cowboy ones with the spinning sharp wheels at the back.....sure to win then.....

*sigh*

No, all wrong advice, but thats what happens on here all the time  - wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong!

Just needs a bitless bridle, a lovely barbie pink saddle with tassles as they help set off the look & purple breeches to compliment, definately NO cowboy spurs (tho could take a cattle prod if really needed, hidden in her boot ;)

:D

How dare you discount my ADVISE...!!! ;)

Pink....PINK?????

Brown tack all the way!!!

I think you are all being very silly about this. No one has even mentioned the competition mix that this little guy is going to need by the bucket load, not to mention the double bridle that the girl will be riding him in around the kitchen. What you could do is trim his toes so short that is is too sore to move from out under the tree. I did this last year to mine and he loved all the attention, especially when people mistook him for part if the tree and hung Christmas decorations from his ears
