FT working horse owners

Summer - fed and sprayed in the morning - if very hot brought in.

Winter - fed and turned out, if staying in put in school and skipped out. Brought in if out and given a small net and ball to keep them happy until I get up later.

Wednesday and Fridays I have full livery.

I work at least 45 hours a week, have 1 1/2 hours travelling to and from work a day, plus it is 30 mins each way to the horses, hence two days off from them to try and fit in housework and catch up on anything else in life.

My god you make it sound easy, it really can't be. My yard is 5 mins from home but they charge a fortune if they muck out. This is an extra £10 a day.

i work different shifts so on days

our yard feeds early morning - i just leave her feed/hay ready outside her box - that applies on any day

9-5 - the yard turns her out and i get up there by 5.30pm (lift up with a mate), fetch in, ride, muck out. make feeds/hays etc and home by 7 ish

1-9 - i get to the yard 7.30-8 am muck out, ride and walk the dog home by 11ish, shower change and be in work by 1pm (sometimes i even thrown in a little housework too!!)
the yard fetches in and changes rugs etc and gives her tea

I don't have an hours commute, but here is my day:

Up approx 6 am and drive 20 mins to yard.
Lunge horsey, clean stall, feed him organise feed him, rug up etc.
Off to work at 9am to get there by 9.30am.

Finish work 5.30pm straight out to horsey, take him out for ten minutes graing or wash down his legs from arvo in field.
Clean stall, feed him etc.
Ride two horses,
Final check of mine and go home!
I'm home about 9pm. :-)

Aren't we a dedicated bunch!!

Im beginning to think i am quite fortunate! LOL!

Im up for 8am- muck out/turn out/feed mine and my employers horses.
Walk the 3 mins from the horses to work- work from 9am to 12pm
Ride one horse have lunch then ride second horse and bring both in for the night- back in work for 4pm until 6pm - chuck any extra hay/skip out/water and night feed then off home (the two minute walk) for 6.30pm.

At home having tea for around 6.35pm providing my boyfriend is organised! Lol!

Get up at 5am down yard for about 5.20am (dog comes to). Horses are fed except the one Tamara is riding/lunging, they are mucked out, rugs checked, turned out, hayed, watered. I get to work for 7.30am. Tamara will feed & walk the dog before going to school 8.30am. She gets them in after school as I finish at 4.30pm then go onto my evening job. That is why I can not wait for when they can be turned out, as we can just get them in & ride out in the mornings instead of mucking out!!

My friends horse lives with my 4 so her Dad usually does them in the morning for me - however if he doesnt then the day goes like this...

Get to yard at 7.30 - feed all 5 breakfast, put the 2 that are in out in the field and put hay in the field. Get to work for 8.45.

Finish work at 5ish and go straight to yard. Muck out 2 stables, hay, waters, do feeds for that night and next morning. Bring in the 2 who stay in and who ever else is being ridden/lunged. Ride one of mine and then lunge one of mine, feed their dinners, hay the field, put out the ones who live out. Dont usually get in until 9-9.30, but its all worth it.

Luckily my OH helps out a lot so some nights I just ride 2 or 3 of them while he mucks out etc...
