I have an ongoing mission to find the right bit for my horse, I have now learnt that spending a fortune on Myler, Sprenger and the like is a waste of money.

I alway go back to his original bit which is a full check snaffle with french link, I would though like to find this bit in a nicer material other than stainless steel as ideally I would like his mouth to be a bit moister.

Am i just looking in the wrong places or does this not exist! I can find it in a jointed snaffle, and Sprenger and NS have them but I really don't want to spend that kind of money. I am watching a few on Ebay but even they are going for £50 plus.

Does anyone know of anywhere I can find one?! I am not too worried if its french link or lozenge but mouthpiece can't be any thicker than 14mm.

Would be really grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction :)

Thanks the the suggestions :) I have emailed a few to find out the thickess of the mouthpiece. Surrey Equestrian don't seem to do NS anymore looking at their website.

We have a cheap fat one, but only a few sizes left

The new ones we had made are much more expensive due to the GBP crashing and the price of copper going up.

This is the new 16mm version - should be around £5 cheaper on our website than eBay as we are making non-ebay purchases cheaper as their fees have shot up!!

Ah that is just what I have been looking for, don't suppose it come in a 14mm thickness? He doesn't tolerate anything thicker than 14mm, he is rather "special" :o

Dashes off to look at website :D

Erm no - but 16mm is the largest measurement at the very end of the mouthpiece, so half way down the mouthpiece is around 12mm (I can put the callipers on it later to check)

Thanks, looking at the pic it doesn't look too chunky unlike the Cottage Craft one. He is the typical flabby lipped, large tongue and low pallet. His current bit is 12mm so would be worried about increasing to 16mm. Ah its never simple

I really like the look of your Tongue Saver range, don't suppose they come in an eggbutt or full check do they?
