does anyone use a full cheek snaffle without these? I'm just starting to lead my 3 yr old out in his bridle rather than halter and the snaffle looks like its on a dodge angle, so I've googled it and see keeper things that some people use! does it work better, with/without the keepers?

I never use keepers with a full cheek, it seems to fix the bit at the wrong angle when I have seen them used, the keepers are correctly used with fulmers to keep the bit stable as the rings are loose but it is often seen without the keepers.

ah okay that's cool then, just thought it looked like it should sit more up right, but it that's right then that's cool! im used to horse that has stronger bits!

The Full Cheek snaffle is not generally used with keepers but the Fulmer is. Using the keepers makes the mouthpiece very still so that the horse is able to trust the bit more. Either bit is great with steering for a young horse as it helps so much

You can use a bit keeper on both or not as you wish. The bit keeper stabilizes the bit especially in the case of a Fulmer Snaffle and sits the bit up in the mouth with both types but more so with the full cheek which can be a plus for busy horses needing the bit to be v still or a minus with a horse that likes more freedom and might feel trapped.
