My horse has a MW turnout on in the day, with a thin fleece underneath it on very cold days.

At night he has a HW stable rug on.

Both rugs have hoods.

it won't be long before I will be getting the Tesco Value duvets out! Cost a fiver and the best insulation around, fit snuggly between a summer sheet and thick stable rug for the really hardcore winter frosts! (and they never slip!)

Not any use for the moment, but a useful tip as it will soon be upon us!

Good one thanks.

My horse, clipped within the last week, is on middleweight rug with hood out now (even though its sunny) and a padded stable rug at night, like a duvet in itself. It fits in my washing machine as I have invested in a HUGE one!

2 of mine are hunter clipped. Live out 24/7. Are currently wearing a standard neck Orican (the welsh D is hard, even with a clip!) and the other is wearing a Rambo Duo (without a liner OR neck due to damage - see post!). Its really mild today

My (big girls blouse) boy is fully clipped and has on:

heavy weight full neck turnout in day (its not my heavy heavy full weight though)

lightweight stable rug with full neck medium weight over top on a night

Although its warm today so he has gone out in a medium weight full neck and I might pop a sheet under his night rug instead of a stable rug tonight.

My ID x has a full clip and is wearing a WB MW with high neck at all times and he's still out 24/7. If it starts frosting over in the mornings I'll start putting a fleece under it or bringing him in overnight but at the mo he's fine - I went to him at teatime over the weekend and he was toastie!
I've still got the windows open during the night at home so it's not that cold!
