My pony is just coming back off loan as a companion. He is the only horse I own, but have had to loan him out due to ongoing medical problems and didn't feel it fair on him for me to rely on other liveries for help when I get admitted into hospital (always emergency so get no prior warning of this!)
I have had a few people with interest in loaning my lad, but I'm constantly worrying that he's going to end up coming back. The stress that's involved him coming back this time has been immense, but I kept his current stable in case the first few months meant him coming back so am glad I did.

So, his adverts are back up again for him going out on loan. I have also been browsing forums, including a local one near me. There is an advert on one asking for a small gelding livery.
Full livery, on grass, which includes '365 days of the year and includes all food etc, water, rug changes, groom, farrier, vet fetch and hold. You also get to use the yard menage and facilities.'

Should I go to the latter option? It would obviously mean giving up the stable where he's coming back to. This livery seems almost perfect - it's a shame I don't ride or have a ridden horse, sounds ideal really. It's about 8 miles away, next to a bus stop, and if he was on full it would mean if I was in hospital I wouldn't need to panic.

I don't know, mind is a jumble at the minute and could do with either a slap or some good advice....possibly a bit of both! :D

If the loan thing is causing you stress, and you can afford it without the money causing you worries, then go for the full grass livery until you are feeling a bit better and up to coping with maybe looking for a loan home. This way you will be able to see him when you want without having to worry about him being cared for when you are ill, or having the worry of him being sent back.

Option 2, so long as its not going to stress you money wise :)
Theres nothing saying you cant find a sharer in the future if you like the yard!
