Full (ish) loan, off to uni- does this exist

Lomg story short, a friend of mine is looking for a horse on full loan. Her current mare is getting on a bit and may need to be retired. She's looking to get another on loan but is happy for the owner to ride as well. Ideally shes looking for someone who's off to uni but still wants to be able to ride in the holidays and occassional other days.

Fo you think this type of arrangement would work? She keeps her horses at home so not lookung to drive to a yard to share. She's a very competent rider and would prefer something that can compete.

Would a wanted ad be the best place to start?

She's based in Sussex if anyone has any ideas! Thanks

I would think she would be a lot of student's dream! I would put ads on Preloved, EquineAds and perhaps Facebook, see if you get any responses.

She is EXACTLY what I am looking for, sadly just too far away for me Agree with the above places to advertise... just a long shot but she could see if any local unis have a forum? maybe people with horses will be looking for loaners on there? not sure if there is such a thing though...

Thanks. We hadnt tjought about advertising straight to the local uni. Anyone going to Brighton uni would be perfect as she's not that far away.

Is it worth advertising now or waiting til nearer the end of the summer?

Definitely advertise now! I'm going in September and started things off a month or so ago and still panicking that in running out of time!
