Am considering purchasing my son a pair so that he stays a bit dryer when riding.

Any recommendations or comments on them?

He currently rides in half chaps that help him grip. Do full chaps have grippy material?

Many thanks

No - full chaps don't have anything grippy on the inside. I bought a pair for my daughter when she was 7 or 8 and she promptly fell off - blamed the chaps (probably wrongly) and refused to wear them again. She is now 18 and still won't! We use dri-riders - but having googled them I now can't find them! We got them in Germany years ago and they fit from the waist, over the thigh and fasten below the knee. Just over the upper part of the leg so the rider's normal johds offer the usual grip. It isn't 100% (what is!) and doesn't offer the warmth of a full chap. But keeps the rain off. I'll keep hunting for a link.

Rambo every time. They stay waterproof, are not slippery and last forever.

I sponge off rather then wash, as washing can reduce waterproofness, and re-proofers are nt half as good.

Thank you. Our local equestrian shop doesn't stock them nut I found a huge shop in Milton Keynes that have the Rambo one's
