Good afternoon everyone,
I'm moving from the US to the UK this summer (full story on that on this thread! ) and will be in the market for full livery somewhere near RAF Lakenheath. I would love any recommendations you all have for full livery yards in the area. I'm open to anything within a 30-40 minute drive from the base. A great facility and yard team is more important to me than proximity, so I'm happy to travel the 30 minutes if the facility is great and welcoming. I'd actually prefer living out in the vicinity of the yard too rather than closer to the base, so any recommendations for nice communities near any of these yards would be much appreciated.
Desired Amenities:
- Grass turnout year round (horse is happy living out in groups 24/7 or in a stable during the day)
- Indoor and outdoor schools
- Easy access to hacking (off road preferable)
- Access to show jump lessons (1m+), dressage lessons a major bonus
- Budget around £175/week max
Indoor is not 100% necessary, but I'm likely going to have to ride at night during the week, and a dry indoor would be heavenly on those cold, wet nights. So...maybe 98% necessary.
Yards I'm interested in thus far:
Anvil Park: https://www.anvil-park-stud.co.uk/services/livery/
Sedgeway EC: https://www.facebook.com/SedgewayEC/
Barrow Hall Stables
Any opinions on any of the above, as well as new suggestions, are appreciated! Feel free to message me privately if you're not comfortable sharing opinions on any of these yards. I figure it's never too early to start researching as I'll make the decision later this spring on whether I will be bringing my horse or not. I would be visiting the yards in person before either having my horse shipped over or acquiring a horse in the UK. Thank you all very much for your help and insight!
