I suspect I am asking the impossible! I absolutely love my yard and both George and I are very happy there and would hate to leave, but, George has recently been diagnosed with COPD and needs as much turnout as possible.
At my current yard it is no problem from April to Nov/Dec as they are out for 12 hrs and then in overnight, but for the winter they get 3hrs turnout a day in a very large old sand school with dry hay. He has always been quite content with this arrangement, and if it wasn't for his COPD he still would be. There is a possibility I may be able to sort out a winter alternative with the YO, but if not I need to think about alternatives.
So I guess I'm looking for a yard in the Brentwood, Warley, Blackmore, Ingatestone sort of area that has excellent hacking, a floodlit school and good grazing. Out all day all year round and in at night would be fine, so long as it was an outdoor stable, or out 24/7 in summer and in at night in the winter. I would need part livery or assisted DIY as I work slightly odd hours and commute to and from london so sometimes get stuck.
I know good grazing and a good livery yard are hard to find in Essex, but if anyone has any suggestions I would be interested - thanks
