I have a young friend who will be studying in Cambridge. she needs to find a yard for her horse, preferably with an indoor school or at least a school with a good surface, professionally run with a high standard of care. Can anyone recommend anywhere, please?

I know the people that run sedgeway near ely

The horsepoo-cambridge facebook page is very active generally and I see lots of livery recommendations come up, a few nice yards all sides I think really, generally they do seem to have pretty good arenas. Quite a lot don't seem to run websites/have easy to find contacts.
I will mention though that the 40 min drive time might be not as far as one would imagine if you're having to travel at peak times at all traffic around here is not good.

Lordsbridge are the south side and I think have a good indoor, more my side I've listed this list from someone else's request for options on fb
Broadway Farm Stables at Lolworth, Birds Pasture Farm at Battlegate Road in Boxworth, Keeble Cottage in Oakington.

Ah I took moats way off the list as might be too far but probably not too bad now with the new local road (I spend quite a bit of time on the nice multi use next to said road now :) )

Birds Pasture Farm is closing to liveries I think as it’s been rented as a unit to an eventer.

Hall Farm in Waterbeach (10 mins from Cambs) is run by a friend of mine who do full livery, and one of the horses I ride is in Histon (15 mins away) (Upton Farm?) but they don’t do full livery, although it’s the sort of yard where everyone helps each other. If you want a contact feel free to PM me. There are good facilities.

Haggis Farm in Barton (five mins) do full livery and are as close to Cambridge you’ll get. It’s a friendly yard with good facilities and nice owners.

The College of West Anglia (10/15 mins) is another who do full with good arenas.

Bartlow Equestrian in Castle Camps (40 mins) do full livery, indoor yard and huge outdoor.

Meadow Lane Equestrian in Earith (20 mins) is brilliant but always full as no one wants to leave!

Lordsbridge is OK (10 mins) but expensive for what it is IMO.

I know of a few to steer clear of also…
