Hi All, looking to move soon for work and will need to put my horse onto full livery. Not sure where we are going yet but likely to be Essex/Suffolk. Just wondering what the going rate is and what is included as I have always just rented a field/stable before. What happens in the summer? Can they live out 24/7 and if so is the price reduced? Thanks!
 
Your best best is touring round several yards, to get an idea of the prices and services.

24/7 turnout tends to be rare on yards offering full livery though, although one yard I was at, only full livery's could have all 24/7 turnout in the summer (for no price reduction!).
 
Depends if you mean full as in everything including riding or part livery,generally excluding riding and grooming.

I'm Surrey but full is £600+ a month sometimes up to £1000. Part is £450 to £600 round here
 
Thanks all. Would not want my horse exercised but everything else dealt with. I would go and ride a few times a week. Would assume a basic hoof pick/groom to be included per day.

Most yards would have grooming as an extra service, also ask about holding for vet / farrier etc, as that is usually extra too, and limitations on the amount of hay / haylage, what feed/bedding (if any) is included.
 
I'm not in your area but ours is £100 a week all year round, includes basic hard feed (whatever you like within reason but not supplements), unlimited hay/haylage, 2 bales of shavings a week. Horse mucked out, rugs changed, turned out, brought in, legs washed and feet picked out. No extra charge for vet/farrier visits.

Option to turn out 24/7 in summer but no discount.
 
I'm on full livery in essex, pay £500 a month and that includes adlib hay and straw, holding for the vet/farrier, all services except grooming and riding. There are no full livery places near here that offer 24/7 turnout but we daylight turnout year round or walker if the fields are under water.
 
My new yard in mid Suffolk is £400 for full livery, exercising/schooling extra, YO also gives lessons. I pay less as part livery, but still more than old yard and more than happy as its got super hacking, good stabling (stable optional so some just on grass livery, probably not taking more of these), and friendly family & staff! Quite a distance from Essex border though so check nearer to where you will be!
 
The nearer to London you get the more the price will be so expect Essex to be more expensive than Suffolk.

I am on what I would call part livery plus as it includes hold for farrier, feet picked out, and 2 sessions on the horse walker a week if needed to keep them trim/fit as well as the normal feeds, hay, and turn out and catch in and mucking out and late night check with includes extra feeds/hay for those who need it. This is in Buckinghamshire and a medium size yard with what I would call a personalized service where the horses are all treated as individuals, with experienced staff and everything is top of the range, good quality hay, spotless beds, good choice of feeds and lots of advice and support and the people who look after the horses get to know them well and would notice if your horse was unwell. I think that is very important as you need people who would notice if something was wrong and know what to do if you are not going to be at the yard every day. I am paying just over £600 a month for 7 days a week includes bank holidays. I think this is very reasonable when you look at the costs and work involved and means people are paid fairly for the work they do.

The horses do go out every day. I am not sure why you think full liveries are more likely to be left in if wet, other than the horse owners not wanting the horses to go out, as keeping a horse in 24/7 is normally harder work and costs more than turning them out. On the yard I am on the part liveries and the assisted diy liveries share the same fields so they go out unless owners request for their horses not to get turned out, so they all go out every day. The grazing is well managed so I don't think the fields would shut due to wet weather, the fields only shut if there is heavy snow.

I'm in Essex, pay £350 per month for all year turnout (24/7), use of chipping pen if very wet, rubber school with jumps, hacking distance to a decent xc course, parking for lorry or y/o will take us, rugs changed, ad lib bedding (straw or chips), hard feed and wormer included (supplements provided by owner), hay or haylage, use of walker.....no extra charge for farrier or vet holding. It's brilliant but apart from the xc course our hacking is naff! The only extra charges are for shoes, yard farrier will do them if that's easier or tho can have your own. We will also plait/turnout for shows if needed.
