All my breeches are full seat but Im wondering how different the knee patch ones are.

Just spotted a good brand sale but only have the knee patch breeches in my size the sale.

Dont suppose they give as much gripabilty.

Personally I find it hard to get a pair of full seat breeches which are comfortable; the material used always feels very inflexible and set, and will "hitch" and then the breeches start to move around when you're riding.

Give me a pair with knee patches only any day, even though they may not last as long.

The only pair of full seat breeches which I've found remotely tolerable are a pair of Caldene ones I bought in a sale recently; they're lovely, lots of stretch in the "full seat" material.

But I find that with a lot of these "Clarino" synthetic suede seats there's just no "give" or movement in the fabric whatsoever. There needs to be a bit more elastication, or lycra, or whatever before I'll ever buy a pair. Ghastly things IMO.

The other drawback with a "full seat" breech done with the synthetic suede is that if you get wet in them, you'll stay wet - VERY wet; its like a sponge just soaks into your bum. Yuck!

I hate the full seat ones, I can always feel where the fabric can't stretch across the seam. I dislike a grip on the bum of my breeches, I prefer a suede seat on my saddle if I want grip. Plus, when I go to the supermarket on the way back from the yard I feel self conscious in full seat breeches as they don't look like normal clothes, knee patches in same fabric are a lot less noticeable.

I detest full seat breeches - I don't feel that there is enough movement in them. The couple of pairs I had found their way onto ebay pretty quickly! I prefer a more flexible seat and leg area than the full seat ones seem to offer.
