Does anyone have photos, are they the same or minor differences?

I am considering putting Bells in foal to Wolkenderry again and wondered if I would get the same result?

I had a pair.

One 16.1, long in the back, short through the girth, darkish bay no white at all, temperament of the father (get off my mouth, you are NOT controlling me - well known in the local area fro procuding stroppy stock). Loner, rug ripper and very violent towards anything he was turned out with.

Second 15.3 short in the back, deep girth, brightest of bright bay, white on 1 leg and face, a whole rug size smaller, with his mother's temperament (wonderful in every single respect!)

I was SOOOOOOO peed off when the second one did not grow big enough for me to keep!!!

I had a friend with a pair too - a 17 hand middleweight gelding and a 16 hand lightweight mare. The mare was unrideable due to temperament issues).

My mare had had 5 foals by the same stallion. All the colts grew huge and are very sharp. The fillys quiet and little. Her last was chestnut!!

This is very timely. We've been offered Spud's full brother (a yearling). They have several other full siblings out there and they are all very similar and are all obviously the offspring of their parents but they take different bits from the parents so are very different too. Spud is very 'in your face' friendly but baby bro seems much more timid - I think he really needs to trust you. So we shall see. Hopefully we're going to pick him up at the beginning of August. It will be an interesting exercise of nature vs nurture.

Saffy's half brother who I used to own has two full siblings and all are remarkably alike. Down to little character traits that you would not think they could have, they have and so yeah in some cases siblings are remarkably alike but then have also known some completely different. I would say though that Wolkenderry seems to be really stamping his progeny and so I doubt you would get MUCH different.

We've had at least three each from two full sisters to the same stallion and they tend to be very similar to the ones before, ie one mare throws smaller prettier foals, the other chunkier ones, all look similar but have different markings.
They all move the same..
Can't guarantee exactly the same but I reckon you'll get something that looks very similar.

When I was wondering about this I was told "are you exactly the same as your brother or sister?"

Fair point on the topic.... but I dont have any brothers or sisters!

I've had 4 out of 1 of my TB mares crossed to my friesian stallion and they all have similar traits, as in you can tell they are all from the same mare, and they all have her dopey as hell temperament but they are a good bit different colour and height wise - although of the 4 below one is entire, two were gelded as yearlings and one I don't have updated pics of, and the other is a mare - so all things that have effects on height:
4yr old gelding:

5yr old stallion:

3yr old filly:

Yearling gelding:

So you may get something similar if you know the traits she/he passes on tend to be dominant.

Our two full siblings we have had are really quite similar in appearance, although Julliette seems to stamp all her offspring regardless of the stallion we choose.

However this mare really stamps all her stock and her 2011 foal by a completely different stallion (although still purebred Knab) looks as though she could be a full sibling. I haven't got any photos on this computer but she can be seen on our homepage. And Julliette's first foal (who was an accidental mating) is by a Knab x Pre stallion yet stilll looks much like those that were by pure bred Knabs.

Houdie 2007 colt foal

Houdie and Hattie have very much the temperament of their mother. Caine is slightly less strong willed and although early days I would say that Havana is going to be very like Houdie and Hattie in attitude - with a strong willingness to please but also a strong personality of her own!

My 7 full siblings by Guaranteed Gold out of Puchi Trap are literally like 7 peas out of the same pod. Absolutely identical in build, size, facial features, markings, movement, temperament - I mean it literally like the exact same genetic code has been hard wired into them in utero and they pop out like 7 identical twins (except for colouring)

Here you go - Faux Finish - the first of the lot from 2004 - shown as a 2 year old:

Chamois-London-Jul06.jpg

Next in line - Chai Latte - shown at about a week old:

Stonewashed - shown at 4 mnths of age:

Remember My Name - shown at 2 years of age:

Midas-Jun09.jpg

TCF Nightlight - shown as a yearling:

Daisy-Apr09-2.jpg

Blonde In A Motel - shown at 4 months old - even with no markings at all - she was SO identical in every way with her full siblings:

Blondie-Oct09-7.jpg

And finally - Four Feet of Snow - shown as a yearling:

Frosty-May11-8.jpg

Im not complaining one single bit - I love them all! Just crossing my fingers that we can get Puchi Trap back in foal once again for a 2012 foal ... :)

Apollo 340 days. Palomino born with white mane and tail. Minimal overo markings, 4 high whites, white face. Eyes have remained light brown.

Thor 335 days. Palomino born with yellow mane and tail. No white on body, 3 white legs, blaze.

Temperament in both is identical, very independent at a young age, very laid back and affectionate (as are sire and dam)

My yearling has a 3 year old full brother, both geldings & both conformationally correct but that is where the similarity ends. 3 year old is bay - show horse/wh type, yearling is chestnut and is the same height, if not taller than the 3 year old, he looks more of a 'blood' type - hopefully will SJ or event.

Oenoke - I love the pic of the pups

Amy - very sadly Remember My Name died last year ... :(

He was down in the States, he was due to come back up to Canada in a couple weeks time to get backed and start to show so that he could go through his approvals he came in from turnout with a "stick in his a$$" - how he managed to do that - who knows??? It was pulled out and flushed constantly, antibiotics were given, vet was in attendance the whole time, a few days later he took a bad turn and started to spike a fever - he went in to the vet clinic where they did exploratory surgery and opened up the hole even more to allow it to drain better, he started colicking, abcesses were starting to blow out through his scrotum :(, he started getting very shocky and was colicking continuously and it was felt if they went back in surgically he would have a massive bleed as they were so close to many veins and arteries already and they ended up euthanizing him ... :(

It was SO sad and SO awful. He was literally only a few weeks away from coming back up here. His owner was from the UK and the game plan was that he would get his approvals done here, get some show mileage under his belt and then ship home to the UK to stand at stud ...

We were SO close to getting it all done and accomplished ...

Interesting question!

My boy H Tobago has sired full siblings from a few mares, with more due next year. These full siblings look pretty much identical - but then all his foals tend to look like clones anyway!

Two more. By the same QH stallion as the palomino colts, out of an arabian mare.

2008 filly.
Sephie2008.jpg

2009 colt.
DSCF9270.jpg

Both exactly the same temperament, same heads and big butts (Lola passes on her head, Zeus gives them their big arses and more equable temperaments) laid back until they were asked to do something they didn't want to and then they throw all their toys out of the pram, as their dam does to this very day. Also very vocal and affectionate.

Incidentally the same mare came to me in foal and had a 2007 palomino filly, by a different palomino QH, which was identical to these two in build and nature.

HTobago, clones? :D Don't they just!:D

Look at Emerald's two foals by him, Onyx and Topaz, I don't know about their personalities as such but from the photos I have seen they look virtually identical in appearance.

True Colours, have you exhausted all the possible colour combinations from GG and PT yet? Being a huge palomino fan I particularly love the palominos and I thought that Four Feet of Snow was the most fabulous name ever!

So sorry to hear about Remember my Name, devastating for all his connections, they would have loved him back in the UK.

Did PT have a foal this year?

A friend of mine in Cambridge has a buckskin (or is he dun?) 3 or 4 year old by GG ('Goblin') and although he is obviously out of a different mare he looks very much the same stamp as all these.

I just think that the same pics of Tobago foals are put up time and again lol (just kidding Kate!)

He he - I've been accused of cloning, painting different markings on the same foal, you name it!

Enfys you're right - the 2 foals out of the Highland mare Emerald are identical, should make a nice driving pair someday...

Here is the first of the Tobago x Highland babies, Onyx

Onyxfront.jpg

onyx1.jpg

And his younger sister, Topaz:

topaz-babypic.jpg

They even have identical markings!

Oh and yes, all the Tobago-clones (pure-bred and part-bred) have pretty much the same temperament too. Same movement, same everything. I get the exact same phone calls/emails every year from umpteen breeders saying the exact same things about their Tobago-foals.

Another pair of full siblings - a bit harder as one is pictured as a yearling, the other as a foal, but I think it's clear that apart from slightly different markings, they are identical. These are 2 part-bred full sisters by Tobago out of a cremello mare:

The breeder says they are carbon copies. The mare is in foal to Tobago again for 2012.
