Seeing as I managed to miss the Cotswold Farm park ride this weekend (Darn shoes falling off friends horse) - And the next cots. farm park ride clashes with a long awaited XC training day that I have had booked all summer,...

Does anyone know of any others going on????

I know about the Blenheim RDA one on the 17th, but any others???
I like jumps, I can manage up to about 15 miles, and I can travel in the box about an hour around Oxford.
Asnwers on a postcard please.... :)
Cheers and Choccies!

Have you checked the enduranceGB website? at most rides there are NCR's (non-competitive/Pleasure rides) i'm not great with geography so cant think of anything directly in your area. there will be a local group (I'm assuming your local group will be Cotswold) that you could contact and ask. Or your local bridleways association to see if they have any planned rides? i know Leicestershire and Rutland run regular rides.

pleasure/non competitive endurance rides are a good idea,

Be aware there is a min and max speed and even the min speed requires you to go at a decent trot most of the way for the 20 ish kilometers.

If your horse isnt used to doing longer periods of faster work they might need some longer hacks/hill work/fittening before the pleasure ride in order to not get timed out (which doesnt matter much but you wont get a rosette).

I was up on Oxon this weekend visiting the in-laws and saw signs for two fun rides - one in Kirtlington and one near Banbury. Think that latter might have been this weekend, but not sure abotu the Kirltington one. I was thinking how lovely it would have been to escape for a ride instead of beign bored to tears with them.

Thank you for the South Ox one - looks great!
I did think about the endurance ones - but I'm not sure we would make the time - We are a chunky lazy Cleveland Bay - And she wouldnt think it much fun to be going so fast alllll of the time! ;)
Thanks all :D

The Banbury one was this weekend but there is one over the Upton Estate on Sept 25th. See Central Horse News schedule download on their website, and no, I don't work for them!
