Ok I've just realised how dodgy that sounds!!

Our YO wants to hold a fun day at the yard as we've all been such good liveries and kept on top of the ragwort, repainted the stables etc this year (polishes halo).
He doesn't want a full on jumping comp as the Yard instructor BSJAs so there's not a lot of point!
So we're after ideas for fun game type things to do. Its an adult yard with only a couple of smaller kids so the average horse is 15HH + up to a couple of 17HH + monsters. But we're all up for a laugh so any ideas?
Ideally at least one game where no steering, no control and no brakes are a benefit so Hovis and i might win something?!!

Think some modified pony club games might be in order

Bending, sack race etc..... look up the pony club website i'm sure theres some stuff on there!

scotsmare sack race is very good idea but with one of them big loose straw sacks with the hole team in.. gets alot of laughs

at my yard we do just normal walk, trot, canter races.. then apple bobbing and then getting polos out of flour(your face is still wet and it sticks everywhere) then canter up get off run back with the horses in hand, canter up get off spin around 5 times get back on canter back(lol) big sack race usually 4 in a team 1 person in each corner(some1 else holds the horses at the other end of the school, the horses dont get in the sack lol), fastest there riding side saddle(1 leg over the front) fastest there with an egg on a spoon.. then it is time for cone elimination and chase me charlie lol can you tell we have these alot at my yard?

Canter up, round the world, canter back or the same with scissors, guarunteed for at least one person to slide off

If you've got traffic cones you can put whips poking out of the top, canter up, grab whip, canter back

I love apple bobbing, one my first red rosette for it but you probably wouldn't win with Hovis as you need a horse that will canter back while you lead it running like a nutter

If you can split into teams whip relays are always fun

Trotting races are quite funny because it requires a degreee of control. If the horse breaks into canter you have to spin a circle before carrying on

trot races are very good after you've done fastest there fastest back, there are people spinning everywhere cos the horses are all excited after that
