To all those who recently were very helpful and full of advice when I posted my "sharing" threads... thank you very much! Just a little update for you:
I met a friend of mine today while out hacking my share horse for the last time (fantastic hack!). I'd been putting the word out that I was free to ride/ share, and I mentioned to my friend that I was horseless... her face lit up, as she told me she is looking for someone to share her horse! I said I'd give her a call this evening and have just got off the phone to her... not only am I going up to her yard on Sunday to have a sit on her horse and a chat about how we could work this share (she was offering to pay me for it as well! Although I refused, as I'm just so happy to have something to ride) but she also said she had mentioned it to her friend with a horse at the same place and she is also interested in having help! I am SO over the moon! So now I have (potentially) two horses (plus my own horse, her fieldmate, and the new 2yo going in with them)!
I don't know much about either of them, but from what I remember the first is some sort of Anglo Arab type, grey gelding, about 15.2-16hh ish, about 14 (? rings a bell!), had a reputation as a bit of a nutter until he broke his leg this summer... came off box rest a totally changed horse and has never looked back. I'm hoping I can manage to hack him over to my instructor's place for lessons as it's only 10 mins away, which would be fantastic! He's a really lovely horse

Second horse is about 15hh, cob type mare, piebald with all the feathers. 6yo, bought as a first horse, she's a total sweetie although a little nervous on the ground, but very patient and actually quite a good little horse in the school. I'm not sure what will come of this one but we'll have to see.
So thank you very much everyone who helped, I just hope this works out now!

Ah I'm just too nice! Previous owner left me a present today... the most gorgeous watch!

I think she probably saved up what she owed me over the last three years to pay for it!

LMAO get over it!!! "Fishy" is better than "Mr Findus Fish Cake", at least I had the decency to shorten it! I never did manage to rename Cracks, I called her "Kangaroo" sometimes but as T calls her "Beans" I think 3 names was too much...
And yes, pending me not falling off on Sunday and making a prat of myself, I'd LOVE to hack out!

The same sort of thing happened to me. I recently moved to my student house in Langford for the final 2 years of my vet degree and decided that I would try to find a horse to ride at weekends if possible. I'd spent about an hour going through the "Horses for Sale/Loan/Share" book in the tack shop one Sunday and just about given up hope and everyone seemed to want money, which I can't afford at the moment. Then on the way home I saw a horse and rider, got chatting and she was looking for someone to ride her pony- I hadn't even told her I was looking!
