What is the funniest moments you have had with your equine friends, it just got me thinking because i own such a comical bunch of horses and they never cease to make me laugh!

Today for example, i had to go take a wander through the field to sort out one of my retired boy's rugs out and while doing this my other one came over to say hello as he does but he has a strange hood obsession! He likes to hold onto you if he can and today was no different and im walking back through the field with a 17.3hh warmblood walking up my heels attatched to the hood of my jumper! Its very strange but it cracks me up and i don't know why he does it!

Would love to read some of your funny horsey moments!:D

One of the ponies at my old yard had an obsession with Wellington boots and you go into the field without her rubbing on the boots! Needless to say she knocked me over a few times whilst doing so!

nibbles your bum when you grooming him and sometimes it goes too far and he bites you :( Then same gelding if mare is going too slow in his books then he bites her on the bum - Same as in in field except he smacks his head in her bum cheek!!

I knew a horse called Dennis (says it all really) and we think he may have been hand reared as he was quite a character. One day a man was strimming the river bank for us and Dennis shoved him down the banking with his head, then took charge of the strimmer, which was still running. The man tried to climb back out as he was worried Dennis would be injured, but Dennis was having none of it and kept threatening him back down into the river. It was only when someone heard the plaintive call for the river did we go and investigate to find Dennis worrying the strimmer left and right along the ground.
On another occasion a workman left his van too close to the paddock fence in summer with his sandwiches on view. Dennis swooped his face in through the window, last seen high-tailing it across the field sandwiches in his mouth.....

That reminds me, Charlie (OH's horse) used to undo and take down the farrier's rather fetching suede trousers (I mean chaps). Farrier is very nice! Charlie was a star!!!

A few years ago I was riding my very nosey arab along our local bridleway, when we can upon a young lad erm playing with himself, and saying talking dirty to me, my arab just planted himself and watched this lad, I kicked and kicked, but no, he had to watch him. { he did move on, but it seemed like forever}

^^LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! But ewwwwwww

A friend got her horse back from loan and asked me if I would like him to hack with her at weekends, naturally I said yes as he was a gorgeous fluffy New Forest, she said he was literally 'Dumbo' on hacks. I had no idea what she meant, just thought he was a bit, well, dumb. The following weekend we set off and 'Dumbo' also known as Trick took my friends horses tail who was leading in his mouth and we spent the entire hack like that, him walking along like Dumbo the Elephant with Pob's tail stuffed in his mouth! He was gentle though, never nibbled it, just loved having his tail in his mouth, never seen another horse do this!!

My boy decided to empty my entire coat pockets this evening and throw my car keys at me... That will teach me to leave my coat unattended thrown over his door!!

My son's pony pooed on his head at the weekend - my son was washing the ponys hocks at the time, and concentrating too much to notice what the pony was about to do!

My horse wee'd on my farrier - that made me laugh, but not the farrier........

Mine all seem to like to come over and investigate when I'm poo-picking. Mia in particular sneaks up behind you, then rests her muzzle on your shoulder. Does make me jump sometimes!
Amber always likes to give a goodnight kiss - I put my head over the door to say goodnight and she sticks her nose towards you for a kiss.
If Matti wants a treat, he pokes his nose right out and twists his head to one-side. We call it his moose face.
They do lots of things that make me laugh, but those above are their little party tricks.

Heh,so many,i could be here all day. When i took delivery of my new quad, i took it out into Tollys paddock to poo pick.stopped, got off, started picking up the first poo, turned just in time to see him running off with the ignition key in his mouth.Biz,a super lad and very playful, usual stuff, pointing out the poos and then helpfully standing in it,pooing exactly where i'd just picked one up,running off with the muck fork, his best trick was with the old Alfa A bag i used to take the hay down in.He'd pull it off the back of the quad ,stick his head in it,toss it to one side then stand on it and paw it under him till it came out the back, squeal and do it again. On a windy day,he'd chase after his favourite toy as it blew across the field.Bounty, big lumpy Cob,bouncing around the field one spring morning doing a Bambi impersonation, springing up on all fours at canter.Wish i'd videod that, tho' i prob couldn't have held the camera steady i was laughing that much. And Alpi stuck his nose up the end of the paddock hoover to see where the poo was going.....Yes,it was running at full chat.Horses,i couldn't live without them.:D

Great stories, i love reading stories like these, horses really are such characters and like to keep life interesting! :)

My mare eats rugs. I almost never put one on her because of that but one day I'd tossed my gelding's lovely plaid wool cooler on her because she was rather wet and it was a cool day. Then I went for a short ride around the ranch with my daughter.

We came back round past my mare's stall not 15 minutes later to find a crowd of people laughing near it. She had managed in that time to completely destroy the cooler - there was not a piece larger than about four inches square left and she was happily standing amongst the debris with nothing left on her but the belly-band!

Had to laugh. We now joke that plaid is her favorite flavor.

My boys old fieldmate had a rug where the tail flap (whatever the technical term may be) was attached by Velcro. My boy used to love ripping it off, throwing it in the air and running round with it. Always used to make us laugh.

Also, Our yard owner isn't very good at fence maintenance (understatement of the year) so we don't have any fences really between two of our fields. You have to walk through one to get to the other and the gate between them is still in place. I went to get him in the other day, normally he just comes to the gate to the yard and I let him in but he stopped at the previous gate (despite his fieldmate having walked around it and the fences having been gone for about 6 months) and no amount of calling or anything would get him round. He just looked at me as if to say "I can't, there's a gate in the way, you need to come open it" so I had to wade through the mud to get him and lead him around the gate!! Did make me laugh though!

My boy Eric is rising 3, trad crossed with something lightweight - very fast, very agile. My bestfriends boy, Sol, is thirteen shire crossed TB (leaning more towardsthe shire, if you get my drift.) They were in the school, loose, and my boy does his party peice of belting down the long ide, leaping in the air and doing a 180degree turn in midair. Sol tried his best to copy. Epic fail. We felt the earth shake from the other end of the school. The bit that really cracked us up was the way Sol looked round to see if anyone had seen, as he picked himself up!

I took my mare on holiday to Exmoor and she is an exmoor pony and has been out hunting with the DSSH previously to put things into context. My friend and I were just out for a quiet afternoon hack and lo and behold came across the local hunt...they were on the other side of Winsford Hill to us but my little mare heard the horns and decided that the rest of the hack had to be done at canter - sideways!! The TB (who you would expect to get fizzed up in this situation!) just kept looking at her like she was crazy...oh wait, she is!!!...and calmly walked on!
