funny swelling on the back of his leg

This might be a bit long winded, went down to see my old boy last weekend and when grooming him I noticed on his off fore a funny swelling just below his knee down the back of his leg stops half way between his knee and fetlock no heat in it, we have had him 14 years never had anything like this not a days lameness since we had him he is was not lame on it. Thought I would leave it an see how it was went up today and its still there same size still no heat and he is still sound. Going to ring the vet first thing monday but just wondered if anyone had any ideas?

ruptured tendon sheath? or a tendon injury of some sort perhaps. they are not always lame, although i would have expected it to be hot tbh. hope it isn't anything as serious as that!

vet said he has done his ddft although not lame walk or trot bute for a week a field rest for nxt 1-2 months bless him my poor little man
