Can anyone suggest a good dry food for a dog with a funny tummy. My dog has always suffered from pancreatitis and has to have a low protein diet, which I have managed for the past 4 years.

Over the past month, she has developed bouts of diarrhoea and has been starved, rice, chicken, vets etc. She does have tinned meat, but I think she would benefit from dry feed.

Any suggestions as she has just christened my new carpet

Burns is quite low protein and is a good quality dry dog food - I have had it recommended to me, but not used it myself.

Mashed potato is good for settling tummies... then feed some bio yoghurt to help replace the good bacteria. (My vet tried to sell me a very expensive pro biotic once when my dog had been sick alot, so I asked if I could just feed the bio yogurt and she said, yes, it will do the same job.)

I feed mine Naturediet with a plain (laughing dog) mixer - if I am going to use comercial food (mine mainly gets home cooked or raw - but there is the odd occasion using a packet is handy). Which you could try if you ever want to try wet food again.

Burns is the most low protein dry food you'll find. This is what I feed my dog who requires a low protein diet. Or if I can't get Burns, James Wellbeloved, but I prefer not to feed this as it's higher protein.

I was at my wits end with it, he survived on nothing but plain boiled, rice steamed cod and pro-kolin paste for months, and looked like a hat rack. Pinned my hopes on Wafcol Salmon and Potato cos I knew it had a good reputation, but he had one of his worst reactions to that. We had tried just about everything, always with the same result.
Then I discovered the Nature Diet fish variety which was a huge turning point, and combined with Dorwest Herbs TreeBarks Powder, gradually got him onto the Lamb variety, then the Lamb variety Burns. Now he can eat most things, but their main diet consists of Burns dry in the morning, and Nature Diet with veg for tea, with weekly extras like sardines or whatever, and they're the picture of health. He's even managing some chicken now

I know all dogs are different, but I would trust and recommend Burns, I think, with most.

Burns is good. When Andy gets really bad - he has quite a lot of allergies - I give him Wafcol vegeterian with yoghurt for a few days to calm his tummy down.

Yes Frogpool is 5 mins from home/work and yard, very lucky girl
