Knowing for well how small the horsey world is. I am soon to be moving to the Funtington area (with my boy, oh yes and other half). :P My other half works as a contractor so as soon as the season gets going, I shall follow him down. I have absolutely no 'contacts' so to speak, in this area. Any info on the horsey world down here would be much appretiated. Whats the hacking like? Are there any livery yards? ( I am hoping to rent some land and pop a shelter in more than join a livery yard, once I find somewhere). Horrible to say but is there anywhere thats best left avoided? I really will appretiate anyone that writes back. Its funny how you build up such contacts. Up here I could tell you exactly what goes on, on every yard. Describe hacks based on what you pass on your travels.. xx

Hi, I keep my horse just down the road from Funtington village ( I am assuming you mean in West Sussex??)
it is a lovely area, right at the foot of the South Downs so loads of hacking off road. There is a lovely pub in the village, it's very quiet and lots of quiet lanes to hack around.
I don't think there are loads of livery yards in the area, i luckily rent my own little yard with land but places like this are like gold dust as you can probably imagine.
If you want any other info feel free to PM me x

Thanks for replying. :) Sounds lovely. Are you talking about the Fox?? Already experienced that one :P Lovely wine!! hehe. I am so sure places like yours are like gold dust. Lucky you to find yours! Im just hoping for a field... Luckily ive got the easiest horse in the world. An Irish boy that would live in a shed if I asked him to. :D Do let me know if you ever want anyone to hack with!? This really is 'my thing' so Im sure you'll see me about. Look out for a steel grey/dark dappled. xx
