Does anyone feel annoyed that not only did this programme manage to air in the first place and be called the stupid name it is called but also the fact that it glorifies the breeding of dogs and in particular designer dogs. It follows people breeding pets from birth to the puppies being sold for exorbitant prices to new homes. Labradoodles, cockapoodles, Boradors, Chorkies, Chugs and God knows what other rubbish.
In a country where up to 17,000 dogs are pts every year because they can't be found homes for (pedigree as well as crossbreeds) and now with the massive problems we have with over breeding of dangerous dogs like XL bullies and other dangerous dog types we also have the issue of all the dogs bought during covid that are no longer 'cute puppies' that have been dumped at rehoming centres now everyone's back to work.
Who is the 'bright spark' at Channel 4 who thought this was a good idea for a programme?? The rehoming centres up and down the country are bursting at the seams and just can't cope, we need to rehome these dogs first before we breed anymore dogs.
These are live animals not designer handbags. I think the British public has gone mad. I hope at the very least they mention issues like hip scoring and screening for genetic issues, good quality care and nutrition for breeding bitches and consider health, performance, longevity when they put the dog to the bitch. And I hope they cover all the common sense stuff that people seem blind too, like the expense of breeding and just how wrong things can go that put not just the Mum but the puppies at risk too. And adivce about spaying and neutering all these puppies so we don't have more dogs.
The photo below is from somewhere in this country. Look at it. The grim reality of overcrowded dogs homes and the poor unwanted souls that suffer. Heart breaking.
