Evening :)

A couple of months ago I posted on here asking for some advice regarding my 5 year old section A who was proving a little tricky. My daughter who is 5 as well was struggling with his napping and I wasnt sure whether to get rid of him and start again or persevere. His behaviour on the ground is just stunning and he follows her round the school monty roberts style, over jumps etc and I thought that because of this we would give him one last chance...we have had 4 weeks of lessons 2 x per week + homework with a new instructor and this is the result so far.

OK so I didnt follow everyone's advice, but I am so thrilled with their progress and she is so loving every minute of riding, so for the minute he is safe and staying put :) he still isnt perfect but he is progressing. We did go and view a fair few ponies and none of them were really what we were looking for either so we came to the conclusion, better the devil you know!

Well done on sticking to things. They are both young, he's new - it takes time and effort to build a relationship with horses and I do think that it pays off. It can be hard to know when it's such a mismatch that you shouldn't continue, and certainly should do everything to make sure things are safe etc. but the payoff must be so much better when you've struggled and overcome stuff than if it's all plain sailing. That was I say to myself anyway ;)

thank you :)
I really do hope that they will be fabulous together, she wants to start doing the odd dressage test and maybe join pony club. I have never done this before though so dont know what age she should do pony club, is it all a bit too serious for a child of her age - she will be 6 in a couple of weeks but I dont want riding to be anything but fun at the moment...I know competition is healthy but also I dont want her disheartened if she doesnt do as well as she hoped
